Print ads—children's drawings of a Goatse and 2 Girls, 1 Cup.

(click ads, via)
Not that many people would know that just by looking at these ads for the Beneva Foundation in Romania. Particularly that Goatse. That's no Goatse. The inside of a man's super-stretched anus doesn't have a face. Even a child knows that. And is that a tongue, or a penis? The flies are a big help on the 2Girls1Cup layout.
Ad agency: Jandl—whose own self-promo ad is also pretty disgusting.

I honestly pissed myself laughing when I saw these.
If my kid drew one of those, it would be framed and hung in the living room.

The ad works. So, what are you asking?

You forgot about the Lemon Party one. It's adorable, with the ice cream cone and the hearts.

I'm not asking anything, I'm telling you many people won't understand the ads because they don't know what they're looking at.

Yeah, but a Lemon Party isn't disgusting like these two things are disgusting.

I would agree that the ads are for a niche audience. Sometimes, creatives forget that no everyone is as interested in the twisted side on human nature as we are.

Hi guys. I was aware that not everyone will understand where these particular scenes come from. However, you can't deny that everyone will recognize what they're about, even without any prior exposure to the bowels of the internet (sorry for the pun). So, win-win?

These drawings are obvious for anyone to understand, here is why:

1) these are make belief kids drawings - that's pretty obvious

2) something funny / wrong / twisted is going on here - that's pretty obvious

+

3) People who can read, will have read the copy - that's pretty ovious

Either you think people are stupid (common advertising boy syndrome) or you didn't understand it yourself right away, beause you've worked too much looking for funny links on the interwebs and your eyes are sore from all the advertising porn you got back.

Sure, some morons will not understand this ad, but not as many as you think (my guess).

OH the irony! and coincidentally, your recent, self admitted hate for 'reddit.'

It was "Tai-wiki-widbee," the aboveboard blog, whose manifesto is "an eclectic mix of trivialities, ephemera, curiosities, and exotica with a smattering of current events, social commentary, science, history, English language and literature, videos, and humor. We try to be the cyberequivalent of a Victorian cabinet of curiosities" that brought this fuck of all fuck fuckeries to my/our attention:

Should I be ashamed that I did not know what Goatse is? I had to google it, and came across this interesting very educational image.

I wish you had provided a link to urban dictionary, Mark.

That being said, I agree with you. The images are confusing. I myself didn't know what a goatse was, neither have I watched 2 Girls 1 Cup. I've only heard about it, but I don't think I would have been able to quickly tell "That's 2 Girls 1 Cup!!!!". The third image is ok; is that gay porn?

Nice concept (kids draw what they see); poor selection of "dangerous" material.

Vinnie, I wish you had not written that you "came across" Goatse...

i'm sorry, but why the .ro in the domain? the site is a romanian ngo that says it's fighting domestic violence (and you can check some of their ads under media). so what's the connection? why would they advertise in english?

The ads are translated for publicity purposes, happens all the time.
