Jesus and the Devil French kissing in latest Benetton ad.

(click ad, via)
The Vatican got a previous ad in the Italian retailer's new UNHATE campaign, which featured the Pope necking with an Egyptian imam, banned. So, they replaced it with two (maybe fictional) characters who nobody can claim intellectual property rights over. Jesus looks a little reluctant, but dishy Lucifer is all in.
Here's four other posters from the effort.

The illustration definitely isn't original (please don't ask how I know), so unless they co-opted it for the campaign I'm guessing it's fake.

The art direction is actually beautiful.

The reluctance in the Christ's face.

Hope it's fake.

It would turn me off that brand forever if not.

Even Nietzcshe left Christ alone.

"Buy our sportswear because our ads insult Jesus Christ." I guess that's what marketers call a Unique Selling Proposition.

If it was 1985 I might be impressed, am I old or is this technique way past its sell buy date?
