Cookie O'Puss.

Let's take a trip back to a St. Patrick's Day long ago. Tommy Carvel, ABSOLUTE FUCKING GENIUS, was still alive and he still had a great idea or two left in him. Sure, Cookie Puss was already a big seller. Fudgie The Whale, too. But then one late night, while many a stoned/wasted New Yorker was watching TV, this (link) appeared (dig that spacey Irish accent!) Not only did it change the way millions (ok, maybe hundreds of thousands) celebrated the holiday, it also inspired a Beastie Boys song.
related:
1. fMRI Imaging vs. Cookie Puss.
2. CE-O what a mistake.

HAHA! That was a great flashback. The genious of those Carvel commericals was that they spoke directly to us kids, tempting us to pedal our asses off to the nearest store for that Carvel fix. None of that adult natural-homey-goodness shit companies like Bryers were shilling.

Most of the Carvel commercials I remember seemed to have been broadcast on WPIX or (the good old) Channel 5 -- during the after-school cartoon fest.

Whatever floats your boat, I guess. As a non-native New Yorker, I don't really get the appeal.

Looks tasty all the same.

Nobody had more nodes on their vocal chords than Tom.

Godspeed Mr. Carvel.

Interesting that they know it's ugly. The Carvel near my train advertises, "A face only an Irish Mother could love." ??

Forget clowns: this will haunt me forever.

I'd do Cookie Puss in the puss, and Fudgie the Whale in the fudgie.
